Medical Assisting - Associate of Applied Science

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Assisting prepares students to assist physicians and health care personnel in both administrative and clinical capacities. Medical Assistants are responsible for clinical duties such as sterilizing and setting up equipment, preparing patients for examination, and performing a variety of patient tests. They are also instrumental in assisting doctors during certain procedures and making patients feel comfortable.

The program teaches the fundamentals of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical law, clinical and laboratory procedures, and current medical office management.Students take a series of clinical lecture courses on universal precautions in the medical environment, aftercare, and theories and practices relating to common procedures and tests performed in a physician's laboratory.

Medical Insurance Billing/Coding - Diploma

The health care field offers a variety of interesting and challenging career opportunities to graduates of the Medical Insurance Billing/Coding program. Our Medical Insurance Billing/Coding program is designed to prepare students for positions as Medical Insurance Billers in today's health care offices, clinics and facilities. In this four-month program, students learn diagnostic and procedural terminology as it relates to the accurate completion of medical insurance claims. A combination of skills will prepare students for the ever changing field of insurance billing. Students learn not only coding procedures, but also the proper management and execution of various medical insurance plans and programs.

Medical Administrative Assistant - Diploma

The health care field offers a variety of interesting and challenging career opportunities to graduates of the Medical Administrative Assistant program. In this program, students receive training that emphasizes the administrative and business aspects of managing a medical or dental office. With strong administrative skills, graduates can become an integral part of a health care facility.
