The Kalamazoo campus is located in the Golf Ridge Center
(previously the Elk's Country Club) at 5349 West Main Street and
convenient to the 131 and I-94 expressways. Our location provides
free parking, is handicapped accessible, and is located near
public transportation. The building is spacious, 6,730 sq. ft.,
modern, smoke-free, and air conditioned. Facilities include
administrative offices, lecture rooms, medical, dental, and
computer labs, examination rooms, business labs, and student
lounges. Class enrollment is limited and many classes have less
than 18 students.

The Medical Assisting program is designed to provide graduates
with the necessary skills to obtain an entry-level position as a
Medical Assistant in a physician's office, hospital, laboratory,
or clinic. The education includes the study of anatomy and
physiology, law and ethics, medical terminology, and
pharmacology. Students also study clinical procedures such as
vital signs, sterilization techniques, patient exam preparation,
venipuncture, first aid, minor surgeries, EKG, CPR, injections,
and medical office and basic lab procedures.

Dental Assisting students learn fundamental knowledge of office
procedures, dental anatomy and physiology, terminology, dental
materials, dental specialties, nutrition, preventive dentistry,
chair-side assisting, clinical experience and practice,
radiography instrumentation and equipment, sterilization,
bacteriology, pathology, pharmacology, and laboratory
demonstration/practice. Dental assistants perform a variety of
patient care, office, and laboratory duties. They work chair-side
as dentists examine and treat patients. They make patients as
comfortable as possible in the dental chair, prepare them for
treatment, and obtain dental records.

The Massage Therapy program provides the basic knowledge, tools,
ethics, and behaviors that will enable you to successfully
practice as a massage therapist in a variety of healthcare
settings. You will gain in-depth educational skills that increase
your knowledge and develop specialized techniques of massage.
A balance of academic knowledge, technical expertise, clinical
skills and manual dexterity can provide you with a competitive
advantage in this ever-changing field. You will acquire a solid
base of knowledge through instruction and hands-on learning in
our well-rounded curriculum.
The Massage Therapist program is taught over a three-quarter
period, with each quarter encompassing different courses of
study. You will have the practical experience to obtain
employment as a massage therapist in a number of healthcare
settings, including medical and rehabilitation clinics,
hospitals, and doctors' and chiropractors' offices. Opportunities
also exist in health spas, hotels, fitness centers, sports
organizations, tourist destinations, and cruise ships. There is
the possibility of going into private practice as well.
