This upper division program offers a unique opportunity for graduates of the Cardiovascular Technologist program to enhance their skills and increase their earning potential.

Due to the highly specialized nature of their training, graduates are afforded excellent employment opportunities in various challenging and rewarding clinical environments.

The program enables graduates to perform diagnostic examinations through the acquisition of knowledge and techniques in diagnostic, cardiac and vascular sonography.

Medical Assistant - Diploma

Medical Assistants enjoy secure, prestigious positions. Program graduates work in entry-level positions with one or more physicians in private practices, clinics, hospitals, laboratories, and other health care facilities assisting in a variety of administrative and clinical duties. Courses include training in anatomy and physiology, administrative and clinical procedures, computer operations and basic x-ray instruction.

With training in advanced medical insurance coding, graduates are qualified for positions in physicians' offices, hospitals, and medical insurance companies performing essential business services. Medical coding specialists analyze medical records using a comprehensive health care coding and classification system. They also perform billing and claims reimbursement services.

Pharmacy Technician - Diploma

Pharmacy Technicians work under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications; maintaining patient records; setting up, packaging, and labeling routine orders from stock supplies; and mixing drugs with parenteral fluids. The Pharmacy Technician program is designed to prepare eligible candidates for employment as trained technicians assisting the Pharmacist in various duties in hospitals, clinics, or private community pharmacies.

Surgical Technologist - Diploma

This program prepares individuals to perform the services of a Surgical Technologist which includes such duties as passing instruments to surgeons during surgical procedures, checking supplies and equipment required for surgical procedures, setting up sterile tables with instruments and other equipment needed for procedures, draping sterile fields, and other similar activities. Graduates are eligible for entry-level positions as Surgical Technologists in hospital surgical suites, outpatient surgical centers, and physicians' offices. In addition to preparing for and assisting in surgical procedures, other functions may be permitted by hospital or employer policies.
