Radiography - Associate's Degree

Radiologic Technologists take x-rays and administer contrast medias for diagnostic purposes. They explain procedures and position patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately radiographed, using protection devices such as lead shields. With the correct angle and height over the target area, they set controls to produce radiographs of the appropriate density, detail and contrast. Then, they expose and develop the film. Other duties may include keeping patient records, preparation of work schedules or even managing a radiology department.

Courses include: Radiation Physics, Anatomy and Physiology, Radiobiology, Radiographic Studies, Flouroscopic Studies, Orthopedic Studies, Patient Care and Physical Assessment, Medical Terminology, Pharmacology Skills and Digital Imaging.
