Meridian is located in both Tampa and Sarasota Florida. At Meridian students learn in a hands-on environment from experienced practitioners, many of whom continue to be active in the industry outside the classroom. Through the use of flexible schedules and focused curriculum students are able to concentrate on the specific skills required to become employed in their career field. At Meridian, the student is the central focus of what we do and prides itself on providing an education to students through flexible schedules and a curriculum focused on specific training needs. At Meridian student's take one course per month, which allows them to stay more focused on the material they are learning.

Dental Assistant

Train for an in-demand and rewarding career as a Dental Assistant in less than 1 year. Dental Assistants are in high demand and according to US Bureau of Labor Statistics will be among the fastest growing occupations through 2016.

Meridian will train you to prepare the patient for treatment, support dentists during procedures, prepare tray setups, sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, take X-ray examinations and obtain dental records. The program will also teach you day to day office functions of a dental practice.

The Dental Assistant program at Meridian Career Institute provides extensive hands-on training including an externship at a dental office where you will assist the dentist to treat actual patients.

Medical Administration

Medical Administration students perform both administrative and clinical duties, reporting directly to an office manager, physician, or other health practitioner.

Students learn to work closely with doctors and other support personnel as well as how to use medical terminology, medical office procedures, and insurance coding to prepare for a career in this growing, specialized field.

Medical Assistant

Medical Assistants perform both administrative and clinical duties, reporting directly to an office manager, physician, or other health practitioner.

Your training will focus on examining room procedures, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, performing routine laboratory procedures, sterilizing and maintaining equipment, and the proper techniques for administering medications as directed by the physician. You'll also learn to handle administrative duties.

In addition to training from instructors with real-world experience, you will also complete an externship in a physician's office, clinic or related health care facility under the supervision of a physician, nurse, or health services professional.

Medical Insurance Billing and Coding

Medical Insurance Billing and Coding focuses on the fundamentals of medical office protocol with specialized training in the areas you will need for a job in this growing field. As a student, you'll be prepared for entry-level positions in the medical field related to reimbursement procedures. You'll learn the fundamentals of medical office protocol.

In addition to your classroom experiences, you will also serve an externship for on-the-job training. You'll be supervised by a physician, nurse, or health services professional and learn the billing and coding process from the working perspective.
