The Medical Insurance Billing & Coding program has been designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in a medical front office, hospital office setting, or medical insurance company. The content of the program provides the student with specialized training in industry-current medical administrative procedures and instruction in:

• Anatomy and physiology
• Processing insurance forms
• Scheduling appointments
• Collections
• Medical bookkeeping
• ICD-9-CM coding
• HCPCS coding

Other critical patient services will be emphasized. Students will be able to have specialized hands-on training on state-of-the-art processing equipment and this instruction ranges from:

• Introductory keyboarding
• Electronic calculating
• Current word processing skills in Microsoft Word for Windows

At the completion of the classroom instruction, the student will receive supervised job-related skills at a selected insurance company, hospital or medical office setting to complete a well-rounded education.

Pharmacy Technician - Certificate
