Medical Assisting DiplomaBack to topThe objective of the Medical Assisting program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as medical assistants. Since medical assistants are trained in both administrative and clinical procedures, they are capable of filling a variety of entry-level positions including clinical or administrative assistant, medical receptionist and medical insurance biller. This education program is divided into learning units called modules. Upon successful completion of the modules, students participate in a 160-clock-hour externship. Students have the option to take the eight-month day program or the ten-month evening program. Dental Assisting DiplomaBack to topThe objective of the Dental Assisting program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as dental assistants. While it is not a prerequisite to employment as a dental assistant, the importance of becoming a Registered Dental Assistant is emphasized, and students become familiar with the types of practical and written exams they will encounter when they qualify to take the RDA exam. Upon successful completion of the Dental Assisting program, students receive a diploma, a Radiation Safety Certificate and verification of coronal polish completion. In this program, students receive education that emphasizes the administrative and business aspects of managing a medical or dental office. With strong administrative skills, graduates can become an integral part of a healthcare facility. Entry-level positions as receptionists, insurance processors, medical records clerks and medical transcribers are found in medical and dental offices, hospitals, clinics, home health agencies and insurance companies.
