Dental Assisting Diploma

The objective of the dental assisting program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as dental assistants. While it is not a prerequisite to employment as a dental assistant, the importance of becoming a Registered Dental Assistant is emphasized, and students become familiar with the types of practical and written exams they will encounter when they qualify to take the RDA exam.

Upon successful completion of the Dental Assisting program, students receive a diploma, a Radiation Safety Certificate and verification of coronal polish completion.

Massage Therapy Diploma

The massage therapy program provides the basic knowledge, tools, ethics and behaviors that will enable you to successfully practice as a massage therapist in a variety of health care settings. You will gain in-depth educational skills that increase your knowledge and develop specialized techniques of massage.

A balance of academic knowledge, technical expertise, clinical skills and manual dexterity can provide you with a competitive advantage in this ever-changing field. You will acquire a solid base of knowledge through instruction and hands-on training in our well-rounded curriculum.

The massage therapist program is taught over a 3-quarter period, with each quarter encompassing different courses of study. You will have the practical experience to obtain employment as a massage therapist in a number of settings, including:

• Medical and rehabilitation clinics
• Hospitals
• Doctors' and chiropractors' offices
• Health spas
• Hotels
• Fitness centers
• Sports organizations
• Tourist destinations
• Cruise ships
• Private practice

Medical Assisting Diploma

The objective of the medical assisting program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as medical assistants. Since medical assistants are trained in both administrative and clinical procedures, they are capable of filling a variety of entry-level positions including:

• Clinical or administrative assistant
• Medical receptionist
• Medical insurance biller

This training program is divided into learning units called modules. Upon successful completion of the modules, students participate in a 160-clock-hour externship. Students have the option to take the 8-month day program or the 10-month evening program.

Medical Insurance Billing/Coding Diploma

Our medical insurance biller program is designed to prepare students for positions as medical insurance billers in today's health care offices, clinics and facilities. Several courses are provided to complete the program and better prepare students.

The program offers some of the following courses:

• Insurance specialist
• Legal issues
• Front office
• Customer service
• The health insurance claim form

The Private Insurance Plans (Blue Cross/ Blue Shield) and Medicare courses cover all aspects of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance, as well as Medicare and its related programs. In addition, there is an introduction to electronic billing.

Pharmacy Technician Diploma

You will develop strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills needed to interact with patients, co-workers and health care professionals. You will gain strong mathematical, organizational and technical skills needed to count and measure medication, manage inventories, and complete pharmaceutical dosage forms. It is essential that you can recognize, spell, define, and use appropriate medical terminology, words and abbreviations.

Pharmacy technicians can gain positions in both health care facilities and retail establishments including:

• Hospitals
• Medical centers
• Outpatient clinics
• Urgent care centers
• Pharmacies
