Medical Insurance Billing and Coding - Diploma
Back to top
Medical billing and its related occupations are among the fastest
growing opportunities in the health care industry. Give yourself
an advantage as more and more insurance companies, medical
offices and clinics look to hire well-trained and experienced
professionals.
Medical insurance billing and coding professionals perform a
variety of administrative functions within a health care company,
this includes: organizing, analyzing and technically evaluating
health insurance claim forms and coding diseases, surgeries,
medical procedures, and other therapies for billing and
collection. The medical billing career field is perfect for the
individual who wishes to work behind-the-scenes within a health
care facility, rather than directly with patients.
The purpose of this medical billing program is to provide
students with the appropriate theory and hands-on learning
necessary to prepare them for entry-level positions as medical
insurance billers and coders. You will gain knowledge of basic
coding definitions and how to apply those codes to medical
documentation.
