The Reseda CampusBack to topThe Reseda school facility has been designed for training students in the healthcare field. The spacious facilities, located in the Kaiser Medical building, contain classrooms furnished with laboratory and office equipment, faculty and administrative offices and a library containing reference and reading materials related to the academic programs. Dental Assisting DiplomaBack to top
The objective of the Dental Assisting program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as dental assistants. While it is not a prerequisite to employment as a dental assistant, the importance of becoming a Registered Dental Assistant is emphasized, and students become familiar with the types of practical and written exams they will encounter when they qualify to take the RDA exam. Upon successful completion of the Dental Assisting program, students receive a diploma, a Radiation Safety Certificate and verification of coronal polish completion. Massage Therapy DiplomaBack to topThe Massage Therapy program provides the basic knowledge, tools, ethics, and behaviors that will enable you to successfully practice as a massage therapist in a variety of healthcare settings. You will gain in-depth educational skills that increase your knowledge and develop specialized techniques of massage. A balance of academic knowledge, technical expertise, clinical skills and manual dexterity can provide you with a competitive advantage in this ever-changing field. You will acquire a solid base of knowledge through instruction and hands-on training in our well-rounded curriculum. The Massage Therapist program is taught over a three-quarter period, with each quarter encompassing different courses of study. You will have the practical experience to obtain employment as a massage therapist in a number of healthcare settings, including medical and rehabilitation clinics, hospitals, and doctors' and chiropractors' offices. Opportunities also exist in health spas, hotels, fitness centers, sports organizations, tourist destinations, and cruise ships. There is the possibility of going into private practice as well. Medical Assisting DiplomaBack to topThe objective of the Medical Assisting program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as medical assistants. Since medical assistants are trained in both administrative and clinical procedures, they are capable of filling a variety of entry-level positions including clinical or administrative assistant, medical receptionist and medical insurance biller. This training program is divided into learning units called modules. Upon successful completion of the modules, students participate in a 160-clock-hour externship. Students have the option to take the eight-month day program or the ten-month evening program. Medical Administrative Assistant DiplomaBack to topIn this program, students receive training that emphasizes the administrative and business aspects of managing a medical or dental office. With strong administrative skills, graduates can become an integral part of a healthcare facility. Entry-level positions as receptionists, insurance processors, medical records clerks and medical transcribers are found in medical and dental offices, hospitals, clinics, home health agencies and insurance companies. This training program is divided into learning units called modules. Upon successful completion of the modules, students participate in a 160-clock-hour externship. Medical Insurance Billing/Coding - DiplomaBack to topYou will learn the basic concepts and procedures necessary to perform the tasks involved in health insurance as well as insurance claim forms. You will also gain knowledge of basic coding definitions and how to apply those codes to medical documentation. To succeed in this field, you will need to possess a combination of skills. A thorough knowledge of medical terminology, preparing and processing of insurance claims, set up and maintenance of patient records, and proper code selection and application are all essential tools for this profession. Strong computer and keyboarding skills are also vital to the effectiveness of these jobs. This program offers simulated practice where you manually and electronically prepare insurance claims. You will practice interviewing and documenting skills to obtain the necessary patient information for successfully completing and managing claims. Pharmacy Technician DiplomaBack to topThe Pharmacy Technician program prepares the student with both administrative and clinical skills for a position in retail, hospital, clinic and home IV facilities. The program provides the student with the theory and hands-on applications required to demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles and practices of pharmacy technology; recognize, spell, define, and use appropriate medical terminology, words, and abbreviations; use appropriate pharmacy skills; discuss and demonstrate how to work with pharmaceutical dosage forms; and show competency in performing pharmaceutical calculations. Surgical Technologist DiplomaBack to topLearn the skills to assist with surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses and other surgical personnel. Become a valuable member of an operating-room team by performing tasks vital to a successful surgery. The program combines classroom instruction with supervised clinical experience. Additional training includes: anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, professional ethics, medical terminology and CPR certification. Prior to graduation, students will also get experience in an operating room, working under the supervision of a nurse or operating room technician.
