The EMS major combines Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedics courses, inclusive of clinical externships in hospitals, ambulance services and fire rescue services. Graduates are prepared with the knowledge, skills and professionalism necessary to obtain certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic to practice the art and science of out-of-hospital medicine in conjunction with medical direction. Curriculum is provided by the United States Government. Additional training in biological, chemical and hazardous materials is included.
