City College is a not-for-profit private college currently operating 3 campuses in Florida. City College's campuses are located in Fort Lauderdale, Gainesville and Miami. Our affiliate campus - City College Orlando – offers a variety of degrees in our small, private college setting.

Financial aid is available to those who qualify. To find out if you are eligible for assistance, contact a Financial Aid Representative at the City College campus you wish to attend. The representative will ask you to bring along certain financial information. Together, you'll assess the cost of your education; find federal grants, loans, state aid, veterans benefits, private loans, work study, scholarships; and make a determination how much of your costs may be covered through financial assistance.

Associate of Science in Allied Health - Medical Assisting

The Medical Assisting major provides students with the opportunity to develop clinical, laboratory, and the clerical skills required to be successful in employment in a health care facility. Students receive extensive core didactic medical science courses and clinical training giving them the required knowledge to successfully pass their certification exam.

Associate of Science in Allied Health - Medical Office Administration with a track in Insurance Billing and Coding

The Medical Office Administration major with a Track in Insurance Billing and Coding provides students with the necessary background, knowledge, and specialized skills for a career in the medical billing and coding profession. Secretarial and administrative skills are emphasized providing graduates with the opportunity to qualify for entry level opportunities such as Medical Coding Clerk, Medical Billing Specialist, Medical Records Clerk and Medical Office Assistant.

Associate of Science in Allied Health - Mental Health Technology

The Mental Health Technology major prepares students with the technical abilities, both written and verbal, for the mental health profession, as the focus moves from institutionalized rehabilitative services to developmental community-based services. Students will be prepared to assist psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals in assessment, referral, counseling, and recreational activities for patients/clients in residential and outpatient mental health care facilities.

The Medical Assisting program is designed to teach students the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in a medical facility. Students will learn the administrative and clinical roles of the medical assistant in different health care settings.

This program trains the student to function effectively as an integral member of the physician's or medical facility's health care team. Students will learn medical front office procedures such as patient scheduling, handling patient accounts and records, insurance billing, medical office management and using medical office software. The student will also learn clinical procedures such as taking histories and vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, assisting the physician with examinations and treatments, and performing diagnostic tests as directed by the physician.

Diploma - Medical Coding and Billing

The Medical Billing and Coding program is designed to teach students the skills and knowledge for employment in a variety of healthcare settings as an entry-level medical biller/coder who performs insurance processing and medical coding functions.

The student learns how to analyze health records, prepare bills, complete insurance forms correctly, and assign codes to appropriately determine medical billing.

This program provides students with a working knowledge of basic medical coding and billing skills, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, human diseases pharmacology, insurance claims processing, and coding systems.

Diploma - Phlebotomy

The Diploma in Phlebotomy curriculum is designed to train students in a minimum amount of time in the highly technical area of intravenous blood withdrawal. General medical knowledge is provided in addition to an introduction to business skills often required of individuals working as phlebotomists. Classroom instruction is reinforced in a clinical laboratory and further refined through an externship.
