Lincoln College of New England, formerly known as Clemens College, has a unique approach to education. The college provides the academic and personal support you need to be successful and to be amazing. Lincoln College of New England graduates have an excellent reputation among employers, industries, and health care services.

Lincoln College of New England offers programs in Health Sciences, Business, Communications, and Hospitality. Bachelor Degrees, Associate Degrees, and Certificates are available depending on the program.

Southington

If you want to pursue a degree, but may only be able to attend classes on weekends or wish to attend an accelerated program, we have courses tailored just for you. No matter what route you may choose, every student at Lincoln College of New England is given a chance to be amazing and made to feel part of the community and campus life.

At the Southington campus, you can be roommates with someone from a nearby town, or a foreign country. Lincoln College of New England also has a strong commuter population. Courses are flexible so you can go to class, get to your job, and make it home for dinner.

The campus offers intercollegiate athletic programs such as men's basketball and women's soccer which complete in the Division III level of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Membership allows Lincoln College of New England allows us to participate in the New England Region (Region (XXI).

Other intramural athletics include: bowling, cheerleading, flag football, men and women's softball, and volleyball.

The 43-acre campus is nestled at the base of Mount Southington and is just minutes away from the lively Queen Street with its bustling shops, dining, and entertainment. Nearby is the popular destination for fun - Lake Compounce Amusement Park.

Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene

Lincoln College of New England's Dental Hygiene AS program is designed to produce graduates who will satisfy employers' demands for trained dental hygienists who are able to communicate effectively, use critical thinking skills, value diversity and teamwork, and are well-rounded, contributing members of society. It also works to prepare students for transfer to a baccalaureate program. The Dental Hygiene Program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education.

You will learn to:

  • Demonstrate desirable attitudes and work habits: verbal/written communication skills, creative thinking, problem solving, good judgment, self-reliance, team cooperation, accepting of change, committing to life-long learning, support of diversity.
  • Understand the role of the dental hygienist as a comprehensive dental health care provider.
  • Exercise good judgment in assessing and responding to patients' needs prior to, during, and after procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive dental hygiene services based on current standards of care.
  • Use appropriate techniques used to promote quality assurance in the practice of dental hygiene.
  • Promote scholarly activity and research.
  • Participate in community service.
  • Incorporate ethical and professional judgment into the practice of dental hygiene.

The Executive Medical Assisting program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to adapt to a challenging, ever changing work environment. The curriculum is designed to prepare the student to think, to make decisions, to interact effectively, and to accurately perform the clinical and administrative skills needed in medical facilities.

Lincoln College of New England's Health Information Technology Program will prepare you to manage computerized health information systems and related procedures. The health information technician performs a vital role in managing today's health information processing systems.

The program emphasizes information systems security and data confidentiality as required to start a career in hospitals, physician's offices, clinics, nursing homes, ambulatory and other medical or mental health facilities, as well as for pharmaceutical companies, educational institutions, government agencies and vendor firms.

Lincoln College of New England's Occupational Therapy Assistant program prepares students for entry level practice that reflects the values and attitudes of the occupational therapy profession. The curriculum is designed to provide clinical on-site and hands on classroom instruction to optimize the learning experience of each student. This program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) c/o American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc.

You will learn to:

  • Demonstrate desirable, ethical attitudes and work habits: verbal/written communication skills, creative thinking, problem solving, good judgment, self-reliance, team cooperation, acceptance of change, commitment to life-long learning, support of diversity and technology usage.
  • Secure a position in a health care or human service area with demonstrated competency and carry over of the principles of occupation based service.
  • Assess and implement the educational concepts in clinical practice that relate specifically to occupational therapy principles, which include assessment, treatment planning, treatment intervention, documentation, and education.
  • Reflect the values and attitudes of the occupational therapy profession through ethical practice.
