Belhaven College - Jackson
1500 Peachtree St
Jackson, MS 39202

Belhaven College

At the center of Belhaven's liberal arts emphasis is the innovative Worldview Curriculum, which presents history, philosophy, literature, and art as one set of interconnected disciplines.

Through this bold approach to education, students discover the contexts of the Christian worldview and how it relates to other systems of thought throughout history. With it comes the challenge to students to recognize their own worldview and to weigh it against the Christian worldview.

Bachelor of Arts in Social Services

Belhaven College seeks to introduce all students the study of human behavior and mental processes within a Christian context. This major is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge in the field of social services and to prepare students for future study in the fields of social services. Emphasis is placed on developing the students' abilities to understand and to apply social services in their everyday lives. An important goal in all social service courses is to help students in their ability to appropriately interrelate their study of social service and the Christian faith. Belhaven College has developed each course to build upon the previous course in a sequence. The format is an accelerated sequential scheduling approach. Each course is offered in a five to seven week format. Students meet one night a week for four hours of classroom instruction and one night a week in their project teams. The B.A. in S.S. program of study consists of a total of 124 semester hours with a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
