The Medical Administrative Assistant is usually the first person patients come in contact with in a medical facility, whether by telephone or in person. Medical Administrative Assistants are sought after to work in hospitals, clinics, specialty offices, veterinary offices, dental offices, nursing homes and physical therapy practices. You will be trained in skills needed for medical insurance verification; medical billing and coding; transcribing dictation; preparing correspondence; assisting physicians with reports, articles and conference proceedings; bookkeeping and banking procedures; answering phones; triaging appointments; and filing.

Medical Assistants aid doctors and nurses in delivering healthcare - ranging from performing administrative duties to direct patient care - in health centers, health insurance companies, urgent care centers, clinics and the physician's office.

Courses include medical terminology, office management, medical law & ethics, medical insurance, medical office laboratory procedures, nursing and surgical procedures as well as examination techniques.

Veterinary Assistants feed and bathe animals, administer medication as prescribed by the Veterinarian and assist the Veterinary team in the treatment of animals. Your specialized knowledge of animal diseases, laboratory testing and nursing procedures will launch you into a satisfying career in Veterinary medicine.

Courses include pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, parasitology, surgery and anesthesiology as well as veterinary nursing techniques.
