Harris School of Business is a private, post-secondary school that offers students an opportunity to pursue practical career education in the business, legal and allied health fields, with emphasis on administrative office support careers.

All students at Harris School of Business must have a high school diploma or a GED equivalent. Beyond that, Harris School of Business seeks students who have a true desire to apply themselves toward succeeding in their chosen career path. The programs at Harris School of Business are compact and intensive. Through completion of a short-term training program at our institution, students can develop confidence and a foundation for life-long learning through on-the-job training or going on to college for higher education.

Medical Assistant - Diploma

The Medical Assistant Diploma program is designed to equip the student with no previously related background with basic medical assistant skills (terminology, vital signs venipuncture, First Aid) and specialized skills: EKG, medical lab procedures, office procedures, etc.

Medical assistants help physicians examine and treat patients and perform most of the administrative tasks needed to keep an office running smoothly, as well as care for hospital and nursing home patients.

The expected outcome of the program is to provide the graduate with the ability to obtain an entry-level position as a medical assistant, medical office assistant or hospital assistant.

The Health Claims Specialist program is designed to provide students with the basic foundation of knowledge and skills in preparation for employment as qualified help to insurance and allied health industries. The program includes training and instruction in the fundamental areas of health claims examining and medical billing such as Medical Office Administration, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Billing Forms and Health Claims Examining.

The expected outcome of this program is to provide the graduate with the ability to obtain and entry level position as a medical biller, billing clerk, medical records clerk, medical secretary, or other various positions in a physician's office and other Health Care facilities, and similar offices related to allied health or insurance industries.

Surgical Technology - Diploma

This program is designed to prepare the student with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to gain employment as a surgical technician. Students will study all aspects within the field of preoperative services, including but not limited to, medical law and ethics, preoperative environments, pharmacology, sterilization, anatomy and physiology, sterile technique OSHA regulations, anesthesia, instrumentation, communication skills, medical terminology and procedures within the medical specialties.

The expected outcome of this program is to provide the graduate with the ability to obtain entry-level employment in a variety of preoperative environments, such as surgical units, endoscopy units, sterile processing, surgi-centers and surgeon's offices.
