The health services administration program, with a curriculum grounded in business administration and technology, provides graduates with a clear understanding of the dynamic and rapidly expanding health services industry. Through major courses and an internship in a health services organization, students are introduced to a very complex field and explore interactions between health care providers and private and governmental funding agencies. With a broad-based education in business and technology, students will be prepared for a variety of positions in organizations that deliver and support health care.

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Services Administration – Medical Insurance, Billing and Coding is designed to develop students' abilities to collect, process and use information essential to the well-being of the health services industry and its clients. With an understanding of business functions essential to the success of the health services industry and hands-on experience with coding and health services technology applications, students will be prepared for careers in a variety of health care operations including practitioners' officers, hospitals and long-term care facilities, as well as billing and insurance companies.

The health services management program is designed to familiarize students with the expanding health services industry and give them important business and technology skills required in a variety of functions within this increasingly complex business. Through major courses focusing on the structure as well as the dynamics of the health care industry, students will understand the role and contributions of a variety of individuals and organizations including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, long-term care facilities and practitioners. A broad-based business and technology core develops skills that the health services industry requires to ensure effective and efficient management.
