Master Certificate and Certificate Programs
Our health care professional series will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to start or advance your career in the growing health care industry.
Medical Coding and Billing - Master Certificate
Pursue a career in medical coding and billing with skills received from this program. Gain an understanding of Microsoft Office applications, and core knowledge for the following areas:
- Medical terminology
- Anatomy and physiology
- Medical billing and insurance
- Medical ethics and law
- Pharmacology
- Industry standard ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes
- Security and privacy of medical records
Upon the successful completion of all classes, you'll serve an externship that provides invaluable practical experience under the supervision of a cooperating physician's office, clinic or other health care facility. With this certificate program, you'll prepare for the AAPC, American Academy of Professional Coders, CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification. Additionally, you'll prepare for the AHIMA, American Health Information Management Association, CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) and CCA (Certified Coding Associate) certifications.
