Our mission at Professional Massage Training Center is to educate and develop students who will powerfully impact the massage therapy and bodywork industry by positively enhancing the lives of their clients.

Our Program

Professional Massage Training Center delivers the highest educational and professional standards in massage therapy through our two 900-hour massage therapy programs: Clinical Massage Therapy and Spa Massage Therapy. We offer small class sizes that give you a personal hands on educational experience. We have flexible scheduling options so you can graduate in a year or less. We offer financial aid options to those who qualify.

Clinical Massage Therapy Program

Massage therapy has been shown to address serious health issues by relieving symptoms associated with a variety of conditions. Our Clinical Massage Therapy Program is founded on the principles of Precision Neuromuscular Therapy: accurate assessment, precise treatment, and stellar results. You will learn how to integrate clinical reasoning through the use of real world scenarios to apply treatment principles and create treatment strategies. You will learn how to effectively treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. You will also be trained in the principles of Sports Massage. As a Clinical Massage Therapist, there are a number of different environments where you might want to work – from a neuromuscular clinic, hospital, chiropractic office, sports medicine clinic, physical therapy office, or rehabilitation center to starting your own private practice.

Spa Massage Therapy Program

Spas are the largest employer of massage therapists and massage is the number one requested service at spas. In our Spa Massage Therapy Program you will learn about spa body treatments and how to deliver them. You will be trained in the use of sugar glows, mud, seaweed, hydrotherapy applications, aromatherapy, stone massage, Thai massage, and many other treatments to relax or revitalize your clients, as well as stimulate natural detoxification of the body. As a Spa Massage Therapist, you will enjoy luxury surroundings and benefit from contact with an assortment of wellness professionals.

Our Faculty

All PMTC instructors are trained in instructional methods and teaching skills so they are able to teach in a manner that permits the educational objectives of their course to be achieved. All faculty members demonstrate a command of theory and practice, contemporary knowledge, continuing study in their field and a minimum of three years of related practical work experience. PMTC students receive their neuromuscular training from the creator of Precision Neuromuscular Therapy, Doug Nelson, and his team of instructors.

• Education by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT), and certified to operate by Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education
• Member of the American Massage Therapy Association Council of Schools
• Member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals
• Approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)
• Approved as a training facility provided by Vocational Rehabilitation, the Veterans Administration and the Workforce Investment Act

Our Graduates

At PMTC, we believe that massage therapists should continue to educate themselves throughout their career. With new developments and therapy concepts arising every year, it is important to stay up-to-date in order to deliver the best care possible. PMTC makes such education easily available to our graduates by offering free monthly continuing education classes. When you walk out the door on graduation day, your relationship with PMTC will not have ended. We are dedicated to maintaining a relationship with our graduates and providing extensive graduate services in continuing education and job placement.
