Dental Assistant - Certificate

The objective of the Medix dental assistant program is to prepare students with the technical and workplace skills necessary to perform a variety of dental office procedures and laboratory techniques. Upon satisfactory completion of the training, students will be qualified to assume entry-level positions as a dental assistant in dental offices and clinics.

Emergency Medical Technician - Diploma

The objective of the EMT program is to train students for Certification as a Georgia emergency medical technician. The course is based on the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines for EMT intermediate course curriculum, including but not limited to the following:

• Preparation and introduction to emergency medical care
• Patient assessment and basic life support
• Medical behavioral emergencies
• Obstetrics
• Gynecology
• Trauma (infants and children)
• EMS operations

Medical Assistant - Certificate

The objective of the Medix Medical Assistant Program is to prepare students with the technical and workplace skills necessary to perform a variety of medical office procedures and laboratory techniques under the direct supervision of a physician. Clinical procedures performed may include injections, EKG's, vital signs, urinalysis, phlebotomy, collecting and performing laboratory tests and assisting in minor surgery. Front office duties may include patient scheduling, insurance claims processing, patient data collection, word processing and transcription.

Medical Insurance Billing and Coding - Diploma

The objective of Medical Insurance Billing & Coding is to provide students with an opportunity to receive entry-level employment in positions that handle diagnostic and procedural coding, and insurance claims completion and submission. This program will help graduates who take jobs in this field direct the flow of important health care data and understand the technology involved in maintaining, organizing, collecting, and interpreting this information. Successful completion of this program will award graduates with a diploma

Medical Office Assistant - Certificate

The objective of the Medical Office Assistant program is to train students to acquire satisfactory skills and demonstrate competency in a variety of medical office procedures and laboratory techniques under the direct supervision of a physician. The medical procedures and lab techniques include injections, EKGs, vital signs, urinalysis, phlebotomy, assisting in minor surgery and emergency situations. Front office skills include patient data collection, scheduling patients, answering phone inquiries, insurance claims processing, bookkeeping, billing/collection, keyboarding, transcription, word processing and computer billing. These skills are evaluated utilizing error control and speed-building reviews. This skill and knowledge enhancement will enable the graduate, upon completion of required coursework, to further develop his or her career as a medical assistant through an externship in a clinic, laboratory, physician's office or hospital.

Paramedic Training Program - Certificate

The objective of the paramedic training program is to train Emergency Medical Technicians to become Paramedics. The course is based on the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines for Paramedic Course curriculum. A Paramedic student must be a Georgia Certified EMT (Basic) prior to being accepted for Paramedic training.

Patient Care Technician - Certificate

The objective of the Patient Care Technician is to train students to acquire satisfactory skills and demonstrate competence in a variety of hospital-based chronic care patient care procedures and laboratory techniques. The procedures and lab techniques include but are not limited to the Study and Practices of Human Needs and Communications, Infection Control and Safety Measures, Body Mechanics, Vital Signs, Patient Care, Special Care and Body Systems.

Pharmacy Technician - Certificate

The objective of this program is to provide students with the specific skills and training required to work in a hospital pharmacology department, pharmacy dispensing laboratory, or a large pharmacy operated by a national retail organizations. Course subjects and related practical applications include Basic Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, History of Pharmacy, Law and Ethics, First Aid/CPR, Dosage Forms, Routes of Administration, Prescription Language, Pharmaceutical Elegance, Professionalism, Prescription Calculations, Compounding, Alternative Medicine, Pharmacy Stock and Billing, Pharmacy Settings and Organizations, Aseptic Technique and Computer Pharmacy Software Training.
