Medical Sonography presents an integration of didactic,
laboratory and clinical experiences. The program prepares
students to function as entry-level diagnostic medical
sonographers. Sonographers are highly skilled professionals
qualified to provide patient services using diagnostic techniques
under the supervision of a licensed doctor of medicine or

administering electrocardiograms. Medical assistants also learn
to function in an administrative capacity, including patient

Keiser University's Associate of Science degree in Nuclear
Medicine Technology instructs students in the use of radioactive
material to visualize, diagnose and treat pathology through
proper utilization of specialized equipment and techniques. The
program prepares students to attend patients, extract and
evaluate data from patient records, perform dose calculations,
prepare radiopharmaceuticals, perform in-vivo and in-vitro
diagnostic studies and perform related quality control and
quality assurance procedures. Courses include radiation safety,
storage and disposal of radioactive materials and inventory and
control of radiopharmacology. The program provides entry-level
lectures in positron imaging tomography (PET). Graduates are
eligible to sit for certification examinations given by the
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) and the
Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
