The community health care program gives students a comprehensive introduction to careers in care-giving. They study residential care for clients with chronic conditions or mental health issues. Additionally, they learn behavior management techniques, non-violent crisis intervention, recreational therapy and activity program planning. Students also study developmental disorders and principles of special education.

The dental office administrator program prepares students for a challenging career in the dental field. Along with general office administration, they learn dental terminology, pathology and pharmacology. They also learn dental practice management software and billing methods. Career opportunities include dental office administration, claims administrator or sales representative for a dental manufacturing company.

Students in this program double their career opportunities by combining general office skills with specialized training for medical and dental offices. They study medical terminology and pharmacology and learn to prepare medical and dental tests. They also receive Standard First Aid and CPR "C" certificates. Two practicum periods allow students to explore opportunities in both fields.

medical office assistants are important members of the health care team. In this program, students learn anatomy, terminology and pharmacology. Additionally, they learn medical office administration, including the use of billing software. Students receive First Aid and CPR training and certification as well. Career opportunities include positions as admitting clerks, medical secretaries, transcriptionists, receptionists or billing clerks.

The medical pharmacy assistant program trains students for careers in medical offices or community pharmacies. They learn medical office management, clinical procedures and pharmaceutical dispensing methods. They also study anatomy, medical terminology, pharmacology and pharmacy and drug law. Students also receive First Aid and CPR certification.

Pharmacy assistants and technicians increasingly perform the practical and dispensing functions in community and institutional pharmacies. This program provides students with the fundamental skills to start a career in the field. They study medical terminology, pharmacology and pharmacy and drug law. Additionally, they learn dispensing techniques, inventory procedures and billing methods. First Aid training and CPR certification are also included.

The Practical Nursing program trains students to care for patients in medical, surgical and rehabilitation wards of acute care hospitals Three Nursing Arts courses and three practicum periods allow candidates to apply theory and techniques in the field. A preceptorship component eases the transition from student nurse to graduate This program is based on guidelines and standards outlined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia (CLPNBC). Other employment settings include long-term care facilities, group homes, public schools or special care units.

The resident care attendant program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to be a Long-Term Care Aide, Home Health Care Worker or Nursing Aid. Students learn about anatomy, medical terminology, chronic conditions and adult and elderly development. Mandatory practicum placements include three-weeks of clinical training in intermediate care and four-weeks of clinical training in an extended care facility.

The veterinary office management program prepares students for a rewarding career in a veterinary setting. The program combines general administrative training with specialized veterinary office courses. Students learn about animal breeds, health practices, nutrition, common surgeries and pre- and post-surgical care. Career opportunities include positions in veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, wildlife shelters, zoos and boarding facilities.
