Our Reputation
BCMT, known as the "Harvard of Massage Colleges," celebrates
over 30 years of educational excellence and is recognized
around the world as a premiere provider of massage therapy
education. Our programs offer a powerful combination of
educational excellence and balance among classic Western
massage; bodywork in the Eastern tradition; clinical massage
specialization; and bodywork focusing on the integration of
mind, body and spirit.
BCMT is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career
Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT), which is listed by
the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized
accrediting agency. The college has been granted a Certificate
of Approval by the State of Colorado Division of Private
Occupational Schools. BCMT is also an original member of, and
has been a participant in, the AMTA and Council of Schools
since 1988. BCMT is also approved by the National Certification
Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork as a continuing
education provider.

Highly Qualified Faculty and Staff
BCMT has more than 45 faculty members who possess extensive
experience as accomplished instructors as well as bodywork
professionals and published authors. As our staff is dedicated
to facilitating student educational needs there is many avenues
for academic and emotional support throughout the program.
Internship & Community Service Opportunities
As part of their experiential training, our students have the
opportunity to apply their knowledge in a variety of work
environments. We have internships with local hospitals, medical
centers, university athletic departments, professional sports
teams, local businesses, animal care facilities, world-class
spas and many more. Last year BCMT students provided over
11,000 hours of free bodywork to members of the community. Our
students give their time to hospitals, hospices, schools,
athletic programs, elder care facilities and other non-profit
organizations.
Student Clinic Experience
The BCMT student clinic is well established in Boulder. Our
clinic provides over 8,000 massage/bodywork sessions to the
community each year. Equipped with 12 private rooms, students
gain valuable hands-on experience while working with a wide
range of clients in a professional and supervised setting.
Career Preparation
Our career development classes teach students the basics of
running a successful private practice as well as the ins and
outs of employment in the massage therapy industry. Students
learn how to create a business plan, develop marketing
materials, acquire clientele and manage day-to-day operations.
Our graduates gain the knowledge and qualifications necessary
to practice massage therapy in all 50 U.S. states and most
countries. Upon graduation our students have everything they
need to start employment or their own private practice.

We believe that an optimal learning environment includes
committed and caring faculty and staff, an academic tutorial
program, and a broad range of teaching techniques that address
different learning styles. We maintain a low student-to-teacher
ratio so our students receive the benefit of personalized

1000-Hour Massage Therapy Certificate (CMT)

This program provides students with comprehensive training in the
field of massage therapy. Educational excellence and an
innovative curriculum are the foundation of our 1000-Hour Massage
Therapy Certificate program. This extensive program of study in
and include the following:
- 650 hours of massage therapy technique and hands-on course
work
- 210 hours of human science lecture and hands-on learning
- 75 hours of career preparation
- 65 hours of psychosocial aspects of massage therapy
Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree in Massage Therapy

BCMT is one of the few massage therapy programs to offer this
degree program. This postgraduate training, now open to graduates
of approved 500-hour programs who qualify for credit for prior
learning, allows the student to choose a focused field of
specialization while developing a professional massage therapy
practice. With instruction by BCMT's most experienced and
accomplished educators, students learn to master advanced
techniques that are immediately applicable and beneficial to
their clients.
