San Joaquin Valley College is an accredited private junior

Degree Programs with Hands-On Career Training
With a core of general education courses alongside specialized
career training, SJVC enables graduates to receive their
Associate of Science degree in addition to career
specific certifications and licensure preparedness. Students
get the classroom instruction and real-world experience they

Flexible, Accelerated Learning
SJVC courses are offered year-round, with flexible hours in
morning, afternoon and evening classes to accommodate working
students. Most courses of study can be completed in only 15 to
18 months.
Accreditation
SJVC is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for community
and junior colleges of the Western Association of Schools and
Colleges (WASC). There are more than 2,000 licensed private
vocational colleges in California, and SJVC is one of the eight

Clinical and Administrative Medical Assisting - Associate's

Our Clinical and Administrative Medical Assisting program is
designed to prepare you in the use of administrative and clinical
medical procedures in a medical office or specialty clinic
setting. You will learn insurance billing, appointment
scheduling, CPR/first aid and venipuncture. Hands-on training is
offered in a clinical externship.

Our Clinical Medical Assisting program is designed to prepare you
to give direct patient care under the direction of a physician in
a wide range of medical settings. You will learn medical
terminology, medical office management, venipuncture and how to
do basic lab tests.

Our Dental Assisting program is designed to prepare you to work
under the supervision of a dentist. Hands-on training includes
patient care, office administration and laboratory duties, dental
anatomy, radiology, preventive dentistry and related software
applications.

for a front-office role in a health care facility. You will learn
office management, medical terminology, patient record keeping,
bookkeeping, insurance claim procedures and the use of Microsoft
Office and Medical Manager. Additional hands-on training is
offered during an externship in a health care setting.

become part of a team, handling prescription orders under the
supervision of a registered pharmacist. Topics covered include
pharmacology, prescription processing and computer data entry, as
well as hands-on training during an externship in a pharmacy
environment.

Our Respiratory Therapy program is designed to prepare you to
become a valued member of an elite health care team that
evaluates, treats, manages and educates patients with respiratory
illnesses and other cardiopulmonary disorders. To gain real-world
experience, students receive over 840 hours of extensive clinical
practice in a hospital setting.
