Clearwater Campus
The Clearwater Campus of Florida Career College offers large,
comfortable classrooms, computer labs with PC and Mac computers,
Medical Labs, bookstore and a resource center. The resource
center provides students and faculty with reference materials,
including books, videos and periodicals to supplement textbooks
and lectures. Also, each campus houses school offices for student
services, financial services, and career center.
The Clearwater campus is located at 410 Park Place
Boulevard, Clearwater, Florida. The 20,000 square-foot facility
is conveniently located across from the Clearwater Mall on the
north side of Route 60 (Gulf-to-Bay Blvd) between US 19 and
McMullen Booth Road. (Northeast corner of the intersection of
Routes 19 and 60.)
Health Insurance Billing and Coding - Diploma
The mission of the Health Insurance Billing and Coding Program is
to provide students with the medical and technical knowledge
necessary to perform manual and computerized tasks expected of
medical billers and coders in today's health care industry.
Students gain an understanding of the ethics and legal issues of
the allied health professions.

Most health care facilities need qualified medical coding and
billing specialists to accurately bill patients for treatment.
This program prepares students for entry level employment as
medical coding and billing specialists in doctors' offices,
hospitals and any type of organization that houses medical
records.
Program Objectives
Upon completion, the graduate will possess working knowledge in:
- Basic medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, human diseases
and pathology
- Analysis / abstraction of needed medical data from medical

The mission of the Medical Assistant Program is to prepare
students for employment as Medical Assistants who will work in
doctor's offices, clinics, and/or nursing homes. Students are
prepared according to the Commission on Accreditation for Allied
Health Programs (CAAHEP) Standards.
Medical Assistant
Diploma Program
11 Months/42 Credits
Medical assistants perform administrative and clinical tasks to
keep the offices of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, and
other health practitioners running smoothly. The duties of
medical assistants vary from office to office, depending on the
location and size of the practice and the practitioner's
specialty. In small practices, medical assistants usually do many
different kinds of tasks, handling both administrative and
clinical duties and reporting directly to an office manager,
physician, or other health practitioner. Those in large practices
tend to specialize in a particular area, under the supervision of
department administrators.

Florida Career College Career Track
The Diploma program in Medical Assistant can lead directly to the
Associate's Degree program as a Medical Office Administrator.
This can, in turn, lead to the FCC Bachelor's Degree program in
Health Information Management.

Providing the training and skills that are necessary to become a
Patient Care Technician, this program focuses on essential skill
building that includes courses in occupational therapy, radiology
and geriatric skills. Students are also given detailed
instruction in other important aspects of advanced home health
care such as CPR training, body system structure and function,
and HIV/AIDS awareness. Graduates can find employment in a
variety of settings that include hospitals, medical offices,
living facilities and much more. Graduates are qualified to take
the Florida Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and Home Health Aide
(HHA) certification exams and the National Certified Patient Care
Technician (CPCT) examination. Exams must be
passed before certifications are awarded.
Patient Care Technician

Enter the exciting, challenging and ever-changing health care
field. Patient Care Technicians are also known as Certified
Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Home Health Aides (HHA), After
obtaining appropriate certification, you may work in a variety of
settings that include homes, hospitals, offices, and living
facilities. As a Patient Care Technician, you are part of a team
that provides health care services and is responsible for a
patient's care, well-being and recovery.
Our program is designed to give you a comprehensive education as
a Patient Care Technician, focusing on essential skill building
that includes Occupational Therapy, Radiology, Respiratory and
Geriatric Skills, advanced home health aide and CPR training and
HIV/AIDS Awareness training.
