The objective of the Bachelor of Science in Health Care
Management is to prepare students with the knowledge, technical

health care administration. Its curriculum will prepare the

collection and analysis, planning, marketing and other
administrative/management functions within public, private and
government health care industries. Students will provide evidence

The health fitness specialist program will provide the student
with the knowledge, technical skills and work habits required for
entry-level positions in the health, fitness and wellness
industry, and to provide the student with the skills necessary
for career advancement. This program provides a balance of
specialized education and credentials for career placement and
advancement with the development skills necessary for
communication, teamwork and critical thinking.
This program will prepare the student for careers in public,
private and government industries. Graduates will be employable
in the areas of health club management, commercial fitness
centers, personal training, fitness consulting, YMCA's, corporate
fitness/wellness centers, university wellness/adult fitness
centers, municipal/city recreation/family centers, worksite
health promotion organizations and other health fitness related
organizations.

Upon completion of the massage therapy program the student will
possess the skills and knowledge for entry-level employment as a
massage therapist. To provide evidence of competencies in
communications, social sciences, humanities and fine arts,
analytical and inferential reasoning, and computational skills as
well as the ability to learn on one's own. After successful
completion of this program students will be eligible to take the
certification exam offered by the National Certification Board of
Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB). Students also will be
eligible for membership in the American Massage Therapy
Association (AMTA) and the Association of Bodywork and Massage
Professionals.

We offer a professional education program that prepares the
medical assistant student to serve as an allied health care
professional serving the needs of physician-employers in
delivering quality health care services to a client population.
As part of this process, medical assistant students will acquire
the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform related
administrative, clinical and laboratory procedures.
Medical assistants help physicians examine and treat patients and
perform routine tasks to keep offices running smoothly. Medical
assistants are trained to perform a variety of clerical and
clinical tasks, such as telephone management, reception and
appointment scheduling, mail processing, records management,
billing and collections, banking, payroll and bookkeeping,
diagnosis and procedural coding, insurance claim processing,
taking vital signs, eliciting patient histories, preparing and
assisting with medical/surgical procedures, collecting and
processing laboratory specimens, administering medications, and
providing patient instructions, as well as performing a variety
of diagnostic tests.

veterinary technician. Qualified applicants will be challenged by
instructors to learn and apply skills relative to veterinary
support, client communication and office management, as well as
patient care. Students prepare for the Certified Veterinary
Technician (CVT) exam.
