Students tell us the hands-on training they receive here gives them greater confidence in the work setting. However, it's WTI's career services that give graduates an edge over other job-seekers. There are three reasons why WTI's job placement assistance is so successful:
Soft Skill Training
Technical training is only one piece of the pie. WTI also teaches students how to be effective in a job search and how to communicate those skills effectively in an interview situation. These soft skills are incorporated into class lecture throughout the semester.
Local Market Advisory Board
The key to job placement is aligning training with market needs. WTI keeps training relevant and focused by ongoing review with an advisory board of local employers. As new programs are incorporated, such as our Medical Assistant curriculum, they're designed around employer needs.
Employer Relationships
Over the years, WTI has developed close relationships with local employers, touching bases frequently on job openings and employment trends. It's not uncommon for an employer to skip classified advertising and call WTI as positions become available. Often, we're able to arrange interviews and ultimately facilitate hiring.
