Now there is an academic program for people who want to complete
a health-based interdisciplinary studies Bachelor of Science
degree on a full-time or part-time basis, whether it's for
initial entry into this exciting field or for advancement in an
existing job.
You can choose from an array of daytime and evening courses. Up
to 90 credit hours can be transferred. Learn from Virginia
College's real-world instructional staff, many of whom work in
the field and bring their expertise and unique, practical
experience to the classroom. This program prepares you for
mid-level management positions in health care organizations
including hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory care centers

other health practitioner.
Your training will focus on examining room procedures, obtaining
vital signs and medical histories, performing routine laboratory
procedures, sterilizing and maintaining equipment and the proper
techniques for administering medications as directed by the
physician. You'll also learn to handle administrative duties.
In addition to training from instructors with real-world
experience, you will also complete an externship in a physician's
office, clinic or related health care facility under the
supervision of a physician, nurse or health services
professional.

office protocol with specialized training in the areas you will
need for a job in this growing field.
As a Virginia College student, you'll be prepared for entry-level
positions in the medical field related to reimbursement
procedures. You'll learn the fundamentals of medical office
protocol and get specialized training in Current Procedural
Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases (ICD)
and Health Care Financing Administration Common Procedural Coding
System (HCPCS).

technician program will prepare you for an exciting career,
supporting licensed pharmacists by assisting during patient
consultation, counter dispensing operations and prescription
preparation. You'll learn to stock pharmaceutical inventories,
maintain and computerize patient medication records and prepare
commercially unavailable medications. Your training will include
an externship that allows you to work with a licensed pharmacist,
actually putting to work what you've learned in the classroom
