Diploma Programs
Health Information Coding/Billing Technician
The Health Information Coding and Billing Technician program is designed to prepare the student for entry level employment as a records coder, claims examiner, medical biller or related occupation. The student will learn beginning and advanced coding and billing practices. Our health information technology program teaches students how to evaluate coding and billing practices, and provides tools for developing compliance programs that will help minimize the risk of investigation. The program balances knowledge of medical science, technical skills and coding experience. Our practical approach takes students through a careful step-by-step study of what medical coders and billers need to get the job done right. They will also learn office computer skills. Students will find careers in private health care practices, clinics, hospitals, government agencies, skilled nursing facilities, insurance companies, consulting firms and other health care facilities.
