The students' curriculum is a combination of academic study and practical experience. The students will learn first hand how to schedule and receive patients, maintain medical records, handle correspondence and assume responsibility for a modern medical office. Clinical duties may also include: measuring a patient's blood pressure, taking medical histories and performing electrocardiograms and routine laboratory procedures. Graduates of this program will be qualified to obtain positions as medical office managers, medical assistants and pharmacy technicians. The optional one-month EKG externship allows additional career inroads for those whose ultimate goal is EKG technology. Medical Billing & Coding Specialist - Certificate (Day / Evening)Back to topThe objective of the Medical Billing & Coding Specialist Program is to prepare the student with no prior experience to develop the skills to become a medical records technician, medical record abstractor, medical biller, insurance claim administrator and coder.
