The mission of Miller-Motte Technical College is to help students
acquire the essential career and personal skills and knowledge
necessary to secure initial employment in their chosen field.
The objective of this program is to provide students with a broad
base of knowledge and skills required to begin or to enhance a
career in allied health management. Students complete three
distinct areas of study: general education, theory and applied
learning to develop practical working knowledge. The program
builds on a previously awarded associate degree in allied health
or equivalent course work in related subject areas to prepare
students for employment in a variety of private and public allied
health related organizations.

The educational objective of the program is the associate of
applied science degree. The vocational objective of the program
is to provide the graduate with a broad business and academic
background on which to pursue entrepreneurial pursuits in the
spa/healing arts and allied health fields, as well as the
necessary medical/clinical skills to perform the duties of a
massage therapist.

The vocational objective of the Medical Assisting Program is to
prepare graduates to work as a Medical Assistant in doctors'
offices, hospitals and other medical facilities, performing both
administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of a
licensed health care practitioner.
Sterile Processing - Certificate

Our Sterile Processing program provides training for an
entry-level career as a member of the sterile processing team.
The sterile processing technician cleans, sterilizes and
assembles surgical and some medical equipment, supplies and
instruments according to prescribed procedures and techniques.
The sterile processor is also responsible for charting and
records maintenance associated with the central processing
procedures.
Surgical Technology - Associate of Applied Science

The vocational objective of the Surgical Technology Program is to
prepare graduates to work as a Surgical Technologist in an
operating room with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered
nurses and other surgical team members. Surgical Technologists
maintain asepsis in the operating room, pass instruments and
sterile items and equipment to the surgeon during a procedure,
maintain the sterile field and prepare instruments, supplies and
equipment before and after an operation.
Dental Assisting - Diploma

Graduates will have developed skills in a hands-on learning
environment to function effectively as an integral member of the
dental health team. Graduates will be prepared to function as an
entry-level dental assistant and assume the responsibilities of
performing chair side assisting procedures, maintaining and
supplying clinical areas, scheduling patient appointments,
maintaining patient charts and records, producing dental
radiographs of diagnostic quality, as well as positioning and
preparing patients for treatment or surgery.

The objective of Medical Office Assistant Diploma program is to
prepare the student to perform administration tasks in a variety
of health-related positions such as physician's offices,
hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, health departments and
extended care facilities. With additional experience, the
graduate may move to more advanced positions in the medical
field.
Professional Massage Therapist - Diploma

The Professional Massage Therapist is an extensive course in
Massage Therapy modalities with emphasis on wellness, pathology
and massage protocols. The objective is to give the student the
knowledge necessary to develop massage protocol and perform an
extensive therapeutic massage with focus on whole body wellness.
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will
receive a diploma and is prepared for an entry level position as
a Professional Massage Therapist.
