Medical Assisting - DiplomaBack to top
The objective of the Medical Assisting program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as medical assistants. Since medical assistants are trained in both administrative and clinical procedures, they are capable of filling a variety of entry-level positions including clinical or administrative assistant, medical receptionist and medical insurance biller. This training program is divided into learning units called modules. Upon successful completion of the modules, students participate in a 160-clock-hour externship. Students have the option to take the eight-month day program or the ten-month evening program. Medical Insurance Billing/Coding - DiplomaBack to topOur Medical Insurance Billing/Coding program is designed to prepare students for positions as Medical Insurance Billers in today's health care offices, clinics and facilities. Several courses are provided to complete the program and better prepare students. The program starts with the Insurance Specialist, Legal Issues, Front Office, Customer Service and the Health Insurance Claim Form course which is an introduction to general responsibilities of the insurance specialist. The Private Insurance Plans (Blue Cross/ Blue Shield), Medicare course covers all aspects of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance, as well as Medicare and its related programs. In addition, there is an introduction to electronic billing. Pharmacy Technician - DiplomaBack to topThe Pharmacy Technician program prepares the student with both administrative and clinical skills for a position in retail, hospital, clinic and home IV facilities. The program provides the student with the theory and hands-on applications required to demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles and practices of pharmacy technology; recognize, spell, define, and use appropriate medical terminology, words, and abbreviations; use appropriate pharmacy skills; discuss and demonstrate how to work with pharmaceutical dosage forms; and show competency in performing pharmaceutical calculations.
