Kaplan College, formerly Maric College, has been successfully
graduating students since 1970. We have ten locations throughout
Southern California offering a wide range of programs suited to
fit all types of needs. Our curriculum is based on industry

In just over eight months, students receive the training they
need to prepare them not only for a position in a dental office,
but to take the Licensed Registered Dental Assistant exam
immediately upon completion of the program. Graduates of the
program receive a certificate, a Radiology Certificate, a
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, and a Coronal
Polishing Certificate. Duties graduates will perform in the
office may include: patient preparation, chair-side assisting and
x-rays. After successful completion of the RDA exam, extended
duties may include: temporary restorations, periopacks, and bases
and liners. General office duties may include insurance billing,
accounts receivable and appointment control.

The objective of the Medical Office Specialist Diploma program
will have core areas of the medical front office, insurance
billing and coding. Students will learn the basics of insurance
plans and private insurance. Students will learn telephone
techniques, filing, scheduling, peg board, mail, banking and
inventory and office management. Students will be introduced to
the emergency medical needs most likely to occur in students'
respective career environments.
