Kaplan College's objective is to guide our students on the path to success by developing the practical skills necessary to meet the requirements of today's employers. Our students graduate from Kaplan College prepared and confident in facing any business challenge.

Kaplan College's mission is to provide quality education and training programs that empower our students to succeed in their chosen career.

Dental Assistant - Diploma

Our dental assistant program can provide you theoretical, lab, and clinical instruction in advanced techniques and skills, along with preparation in traditional dental assisting responsibilities.

By obtaining a diploma from our dental assistant program, you can gain the knowledge and skills needed to perform front and back office duties including patient preparation, chairside dental assisting, administering x-rays, insurance billing, accounts receivables, and more.

This program is designed to help eligible students prepare for the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) examination. Upon successful completion of the RDA exam, the licensed dental assistant may perform extended functions that include temporary restoration, periopacks, bases and liners, and orthodontic expanded functions.* Graduates of this program also receive a radiology certificate recognized by the Dental Board of California, a Coronal Polish Completion Certificate**, a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) card, and an HIPAA Certificate.

By obtaining a diploma from our dental assistant program, you can seek various entry-level positions in a dental office setting, such as administrative assistant, billing clerk, chairside assistant, collection assistant, dental receptionist, dental x-ray technician, insurance billing assistant, and roving assistant.

* Certain programs are designed to prepare students to take various certification or licensing exams. The College cannot guarantee students will pass those exams.
** Coronal polish completion certificate is to be filed with the RDA exam application. Licensure will be issued once the RDA exam has been passed by COMDA. However, the College cannot guarantee your eligibility either to take this exam or become certified. Your eligibility may depend on your work experience, completion of high school (or its equivalent), not having a criminal record, meeting other licensure or certification requirements, or the program or College itself having appropriate accreditation or licensure. Externship sites may themselves require a criminal background check or medical examination.
