Medical billing is vital to the smooth functioning of the medical
office. Medical billers calculate the total amount due from a
patient, prepare invoices to be sent out, and follow up to ensure
that payment has been received. Medical Coding involves recording
designated codes in patients' medical records. The curriculum
includes classroom lectures and lab training in: health insurance
including paperwork, legal issues, and insurance fraud and abuse;
dental claims; general office procedures, including use of office
machines, keyboarding and computer applications; and medical
coding and terminology. Upon graduation, you will be able to seek
entry-level employment in doctors' offices, clinics, hospitals,
home health care services, nursing and residential care
facilities, and insurance companies.

With our Medical Office Specialist Diploma program, you could
acquire the hands-on training and job knowledge needed to pursue
an entry-level position in the health care field. Our experienced
instructors offer inside knowledge in areas such as medical

The objective of the Pharmacy Technician program is to prepare
students with a solid and basic foundation of knowledge and
skills in the areas of front office operations and clinical and
laboratory procedures to enable them to become employable in
entry-level Pharmacy Technician and related positions. It will
also provide the knowledge and skills training necessary to
prepare students for licensure through the California Board of
Pharmacy Technicians.
This program will assist students in preparing for the Certified
Pharmacy Technician (CPT) exam. Although the program is designed
to prepare students to take various certification or licensing
exams, the College cannot guarantee students will pass those
exams. In some cases, field experience may be necessary to be
eligible to take or to successfully pass the exams.

The curriculum for the X-ray technician/medical assistant back
office program offers training in the fundamentals of becoming an
X-ray technician in addition to the clinical theories and
procedures of a well-run medical office. This program combines
classroom learning and hands-on clinical experience working with
equipment and materials you may encounter on the job. You can
prepare to undertake responsibilities such as performing chest,
extremity, and torso skeletal x-ray procedures, and a variety of
back office medical assisting tasks.
