Kaplan College, formerly Maric College, has been successfully
graduating students since 1990. We have ten locations throughout
Southern California offering a wide range of programs suited to

Graduates qualify for NCETMB (National Certification Examination
for Therapeutic Massage and Body Work exam)
Massage techniques include: Shiatsu, Swedish, Oriental, Sports,
Crainosacral Therapy, Neuromuscular, and Eastern approaches, deep
tissue work, joint mobility, range of motion
Students will also study anatomy, body systems, structure and
function.

Medical Administrative and Insurance Specialist - Certificate

The objective of the Medical Administrative and Insurance
Specialist program is to prepare students with the knowledge,
technical skills and work habits required for entry-level
positions in the field. Students will gain the knowledge,
information, and skills necessary to effectively negotiate the
maze of procedures and regulations mandated by governmental and
quasigovernmental agencies such as Medicare, Medi-Cal, the Social
Security Administration, the Veterans Administration, Workers'
Compensation, etc. In addition, the program familiarizes students
with the requirements of many private insurance carriers and
HMO's. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the Insurance and
Coding Specialist Examination administered by the National Center
for Competency Testing, and will have the knowledge necessary to
successfully challenge the national certification examination
administered by the prestigious and widely recognized American
Academy of Professional Coders. Upon successful completion of the
program, graduates will be awarded a certificate.

medical assistants as trusted allies but other segments in this
industry have become equally reliant. Divisions such as home
health care agencies, insurance companies and pharmaceutical

Students in the Medical Insurance Coder Certificate Program will

Pharmacy Technician - Certificate

The objective of the Pharmacy Technician program is to prepare
students with a solid and basic foundation of knowledge and
skills in the areas of front office operations and clinical and
laboratory procedures to enable them to become employable in
entry-level Pharmacy Technician and related positions. It will
also provide the knowledge and skills training necessary to
prepare students for licensure through the California Board of
Pharmacy Technicians.
This program will assist students in preparing for the Certified
Pharmacy Technician (CPT) exam. Although the program is designed
to prepare students to take various certification or licensing
exams, the College cannot guarantee students will pass those
exams. In some cases, field experience may be necessary to be
eligible to take or to successfully pass the exams.
X-Ray Technician/Back Office Medical Assistant - Diploma

The objective of the X-ray Technician/Medical Assistant Back
Office program is to prepare students with the knowledge,
technical skills and work habits required for an entry-level
position in the field. The curriculum emphasizes development of
effective techniques which provide protection for the patient and
technician, prepares graduates to take the California State
Examination in Limited Permit Radiological Technology for state
licensure, and provides back office medical assisting training
with preparation for certification in order to increase job
opportunities. Upon successful completion of the program,
graduates will be awarded a diploma. The graduate must pass the
California State Examination to secure a position as an X-ray
Technician.
