At Brown Mackie College — Quad Cities, you don't need to
wait for a traditional "Fall Start." Because our students aren't
always living "traditional" lives we offer new starts each month
with day or evening classes that fit your schedule. Each class
lasts one month. There's no need to divide your time and energy
between coursework and exams for multiple courses. We keep the
focus on one course, one subject at a time to help you succeed.

Medical Assistant - Diploma or Associate's
The medical assistant program provides graduates with the skills
necessary to obtain entry-level employment in a clinical and/or
administrative medical setting.
The program prepares graduates for positions under the direct
supervision of a physician or medical office manager through
course work in:
- Medical office administration
- Clinical procedures
- Pharmacology
- Business principles
- Computer operations
Medical Office Management - Diploma
The Medical Office Management Diploma program provides
instruction in the basic skills necessary to obtain entry-level
employment in a clinical and/or administrative medical setting.
Graduates are prepared for positions under the direct supervision
of a physician or medical office manager.
Students in the program explore introductory through advanced
medical terminology, medical administration and management
practices, diagnostic and procedural coding, anatomy and
physiology and pharmacology. The program also covers business
communications and microcomputer applications, data entry,
keyboarding, records maintenance, medical insurance, billing and
coding.
In the final course, students participate in an externship that
allows them to apply the managerial skills acquired through the
program. Externship sites include clinics, physician's offices
and other appropriate health care environments.
