student with a broad base of knowledge that builds on a
previously awarded associate's degree program in allied health;
and also can provide the graduate with the specific skills
necessary to work in a variety of business or health care

This exciting 9- to 12-month program is designed to provide the
students with entry-level skills to assist physicians by
performing administrative duties and basic clinical duties in an
office or medical center. The comprehensive program is also well
weighted with practical learning. Both day and evening programs
include a full-time, unpaid clinical externship. The programs'
courses are designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs
that may involve:
- Patient preparation and interaction
- Basic laboratory procedures and tests
- Communication with nurses and physicians as part of a medical
team
- Medical records management
- Basic venipuncture, blood work and patient positioning
The medical assistant is a trained professional member of the
physician's staff. A career as a medical assistant is challenging
and offers a variety of opportunities. There are career
opportunities in public health facilities, hospitals,
laboratories, blood banks, medical schools, research
institutions, nursing homes and private practices. The expanded
duties of a medical assistant vary from one facility to the next
depending on the type of practice and work habits of the
individuals.
Upon successful completion of the program, the student is
eligible to take the American Medical Technologists Registered
Medical Assistant Exam (RMA). This nationally recognized
certification entitles AMT-registered medical assistants to
affiliate with that organization. Registration or certification
requirements for taking and passing exams are not controlled by
the school but by outside agencies and are subject to change
without notice to the school. The school cannot guarantee that
graduates will be eligible to take certification exams,
regardless of the eligibility status upon enrollment.
Another credential which graduates may desire to obtain is the
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) offered by the American
Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).

Our practical nursing program is designed to provide students
with the essential basic nursing skills needed to provide
competent and skilled direct patient care under the direction of
a professional health team member. Our knowledgeable instructors
help students develop the interpersonal and problem-solving
skills that are required to work effectively within a complex
health care delivery system.
The curriculum examines:
- Simple treatments
- Effective communication with physicians and nursing staff
- Working with a medical team
- Use of technical equipment
When students graduate from the practical nursing program, they
meet the educational requirements to sit for the National council
Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).*

In the world of healthcare, the field of radiologic technology
continues to be at the forefront in the diagnosis and treatment
of injury and disease. The Associate of Applied Science in
Radiologic Technology (AASRT) degree can help provide you with
the skills and confidence you need to enter the field of general
radiography. This education also can form the foundation for
further education and cross-training.
Students who successfully complete the AASRT degree program

This program can provide students with a foundation in
implementing radiographic procedures, radiation protection, and
radiological physics, image production and evaluation of
radiographs.
These procedures are conducted in a caring, safe, effective and
legal manner. The student can learn to work effectively with
other health care professionals, patients and families to promote
patient diagnosis and recovery.
The courses are designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs
that may involve:
- Emergency procedures using energized radiographic units
- Positioning patients and processing film
- Patient interaction and vital sign administration
- Surgical asepsis
- Verbal and written communication with other health care
professionals
Upon successful completion of the program, the student is
eligible to sit for The American Registry of Radiologic
Technologist radiography examination. Registration or

Radiology healthcare professionals work in a dynamic environment
that is demonstrating an increasing demand for higher education
within the profession. The BSRT degree is designed for the
individual with an Associate's degree in Radiography or
completion of a comparable certificate program. This degree
program is designed to help prepare radiology professionals who
are interested in advancement into healthcare management
positions or gaining knowledge in advanced clinical modalities
within the radiology profession. The objective of this program is
to provide trained healthcare workers with the appropriate
general education, didactic theory, hands-on skills and
externship opportunity required for advancement into management
or advanced radiology modalities.
Surgical Technology - Associate of Applied Science

The objective of the Associate of Applied Science in Surgical
Technology degree program is to provide students with the
appropriate general education, theory and hands-on skills to
begin or enhance a career in surgical technology.
The program is designed to prepare competent, entry-level
surgical technologists in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor
(skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains and to help
satisfy the need for surgical technologists in local and regional
communities.
The program also includes hands-on experience through clinical
rotations in operating rooms at local areas hospitals. Students
can receive over 500 hours of clinical experience.
