The Dental Assistant Diploma program at CHI Institute provides
training in chair-side techniques for assisting the dentist,
taking dental x-rays and impressions and use of various dental
instruments. You will also have the opportunity to study anatomy
and physiology as it relates to dentistry; oral hygiene and
preventive care techniques; and use of dental cements, resins and
other restorative materials. Through a combination of classroom
instruction, lab training and externship experience, you can gain
the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to succeed in this
career field.

The objective of the Medical Assistant Diploma program is to provide the knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for entry-level positions as a medical assistant. The curriculum includes computer technology and word processing to make you more marketable to employers. Prior to graduation, you will be required to complete an externship program at a local clinic, physician's office, hospital, health maintenance organization (HMO), or other allied health facility where you may also find job opportunities. This program offers a curriculum that can train you in the basic fundamentals to help you find entry-level employment in this growing field. Graduates of the program may seek positions in urgent care centers, outpatient surgical centers, and physicians' offices.

The objective of the Medical Assisting program is to prepare
students with advanced training in the administrative and
clinical aspects of contemporary healthcare. The student is
required to complete a 300-hour externship at a clinic,
physician's office, hospital or other allied health facility.
Graduates of this program may provide a wide range of clinical
and administrative duties, including:
- Time management of staff
- Trouble-shooting for improving cost management
- Collecting and arranging data for travel and seminar
activities
- Advanced phlebotomy and pharmacology
- Medical transcription
- Managerial duties
Pharmacy Technician - Diploma

The objective of the Pharmacy Technician program is to prepare
students with the knowledge, the technical skills and the work
habits required for an entry-level position in the pharmacy field
or related area.
Graduates of this program work directly under the supervision of
a Registered Pharmacist. General duties may include:
- Transcribing physician's orders and hospital charts
- Drug product selection
- Preparing medications for dispensing, labeling and refill
authorization
- Computer data entry for patient profile maintenance
- Procedures for acquiring all necessary information
They also assist in quality management procedures and security
measures. Other duties may include preparing unit dose
medications, IV admixtures and sterile irrigations.
