Building on more than 60 years of history as both academic pioneer and career-maker, Kaplan University-part of Kaplan, Inc.-has become one of the world's finest providers of college education with over 60 campuses in the United States as well as online programs. In addition to millions of students who have taken nationally recognized test prep courses through Kaplan Test Prep, Kaplan University is now helping students receive a quality education that suits their career goals and lifestyle through day, night and online courses. Kaplan University offers:
Expert Instructors
Our faculty offers something other than the ability to teach at the college level. They have firsthand experience in their respective fields. You will get insight and knowledge from practicing professionals who have been there.
A Career Focus
Whether you are looking to advance in your current position or enter a new field, Kaplan University's academic programs give you the education you need to get started. The courses are developed with one thing in mind: to provide you the knowledge and skills to get you where you want to be. We offer degree, certificate, and diploma programs that let you earn the credentials employers value when making hiring decisions.
Medical Assisting - Associate's
If you want to become a part of the medical profession, the Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assistant will help you position yourself as a highly skilled professional in a dynamic field of service.
Our program helps you acquire knowledge and develop advanced skills in performing laboratory, clinical, and medical office procedures through hands-on training and instruction from experienced professionals. A 240-hour supervised, non-paid externship in a physician's office or clinic will help you complete the program with the experience and confidence you need to begin your new career. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Medical Assistant Education of the American Association of Medical Assistants, which makes your credentials count more in today's job market. Although the program is designed to prepare students for various certification and licensing examinations, the University cannot guarantee the student will pass the exams.
This degree gives graduates the option of seeking entry-level employment as a medical assistant with a variety of responsibilities, such as performing routine laboratory tests, assisting physicians in patient preparation and examination, and patient relations.
