Medical Administration - Associate's

You can learn how to successfully manage a medical office with an Associate's degree in medical administration. The medical administration degree prepares you for multiple challenges you will encounter in the office including:

  • Proper medical insurance and billing procedures
  • Success strategies in the office

In the medical administration program, students will study core courses to develop communication, critical thinking and decision-making skills. Students will also have the opportunity to take specialty courses including medical transcription, anatomy and physiology, medical office procedures and computer courses.

Medical Transcriptionist - Associate's

As a medical transcriptionist you will listen to dictated recordings made by health care professionals and generate medical reports and other administrative material. You will then return the documents to the health care professionals who dictated them for review and signature. These documents become part of patients' permanent files.

You may also have other duties such as receiving patients, scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, and handling incoming and outgoing mail.
