Dental Assisting Diploma

The objective of the Dental Assisting program is to provide
graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to
qualify for entry-level positions as dental assistants. While it
is not a prerequisite to employment as a dental assistant, the
importance of becoming a Registered Dental Assistant is
emphasized, and students become familiar with the types of
practical and written exams they will encounter when they sit for
the RDA exam. Upon successful completion of the Dental Assisting
program, students receive a diploma, a Radiation Safety
Certificate and verification of coronal polish completion.

The objective of the Medical Assisting program is to provide
graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to
qualify for entry-level positions as medical assistants. Since
medical assistants are trained in both administrative and
clinical procedures, they are capable of filling a variety of
entry-level positions including Clinical or Administrative
Assistant, Medical Receptionist and Medical Insurance Biller.
This education program is divided into learning units called
modules. Upon successful completion of the modules, students
participate in a 160-clock-hour externship. Students have the
option to take the eight-month day program or the ten-month
evening program.

Medical insurance billing is one of the fastest growing
opportunities in the healthcare industry. Give yourself an
advantage as more and more insurance companies, medical offices
and clinics look to hire well-schooled and experienced
professionals.
The curriculum includes instruction on the following: you will be
introduced to the general responsibilities of the insurance
specialist; you will learn all aspects of private insurance
plans; and you will obtain instruction on electronic billing.
Gain knowledge of the basic concepts and procedures to perform
the tasks involved in health insurance as well as insurance claim
forms.

The Pharmacy Technician program prepares the student with both
administrative and clinical skills for a position in retail,
hospital, clinic and home IV facilities. The program provides the
student with the theory and hands-on applications required to
demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles and
practices of pharmacy technology; recognize, spell, define, and
use appropriate medical terminology, words, and abbreviations;
use appropriate pharmacy skills; discuss and demonstrate how to
work with pharmaceutical dosage forms; and show competency in
performing pharmaceutical calculations.
