The University of Hartford
At the University of Hartford, classes are small, but the list of academic opportunities is not, with 86 undergraduate majors and 32 graduate degree programs offered. Students have the flexibility to combine studies in the various schools and even to create individual contract majors. The institution prides itself on responding quickly to the needs of a changing society. In fact, one program that did not exist at the start of the decade, physical therapy, has grown to be among the five most popular majors at the University of Hartford. The curriculum features the essential balance of interdisciplinary studies and professional training, due in large part to the innovative All-University Curriculum.
Doctor of Physical Therapy
The University of Hartford offers two ways to obtain an entry-level physical therapy degree. Students who have a baccalaureate degree in any subject, have satisfied all prerequisite courses and taken the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are eligible to apply for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Freshmen may apply to the integrated Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Physical Therapy BS/DPT program in physical therapy.
The physical therapy program is designed according to American Physical Therapy Association guidelines and is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) and licensed by the State of Connecticut.
