Doctor of Physical Therapy
The year 2002 marks the sixth year of continuous accreditation for the Physical Therapy (PT) program at MU.
MU’s PT program is unique among physical therapist education programs. The PT program curriculum is a modified problem-based design with formidable research and evidence-based physical therapy practice as integral themes. By nature of its curriculum design, the PT program is student-centered. Students are expected to actively participate in all areas of instruction and are challenged to maximize their knowledge across all environments. The program and its faculty are committed to students, the community and to the profession of physical therapy.
The MU PT program is the product of continuous evaluation and development with input from students, clinical faculty and the community. The program is comprehensive, directed toward preparation of scholarly practitioners well prepared for general practice. The most visible program outcome is a licensed physical therapist who possesses high ethical standards and is valued significantly by those served.
The MU PT program faculty is devoted to an open and active learning environment. The faculty believes in the value, dignity and human potential of each student who enters the program. The faculty strives to provide diverse learning opportunities in a caring environment, and encourages each student to realize his or her potential.
