Basic X-Ray with Medical Office Procedures - Diploma

Are you looking for a career that gives you options? Do you want to become a healthcare professional with a variety of skills that employers demand? Ultimate Medical Academy’s Basic X-Ray with Medical Office Procedures program is a focused, hands-on course designed to prepare you for two in-demand certifications at once. In about a year, you can get the knowledge and skills you need to take the Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (State of Florida) and Certified Phlebotomy Technician exams and seek entry-level employment in diagnostic imaging centers, clinics, physicians’ offices, and other healthcare facilities.

Dental Assistant - Diploma

The UMA Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions program trains you for entry-level employment in the Dental Assistant field, which is expected to grow 36% between 2008 and 2018. This focused, hands-on course can be completed in under a year. You’ll learn to prepare patients for treatment, assist the dentist during procedures, take and process x-rays, perform laboratory procedures and assist in day-to-day office management. The program includes expanded functions, such as extended x-ray training, to ensure that students have the skills employers are looking for. After completing classroom training and a real-world externship with a local dentist, you’ll receive a diploma and be ready to seek employment in a dental office.

Medical Assistant - Diploma

The UMA Medical Assistant program trains you for entry-level employment in the high-demand Medical Assisting field. This focused, hands-on course can be completed in under a year. You'll learn to perform a variety of clinical procedures, such as EKG, CPR, specimen collection and drug administration, and to manage the day-to-day business operations of a medical facility. After completing classroom training and a real-world externship at a local healthcare provider, you'll receive a diploma and be ready to pursue employment in doctors' offices, hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, and other healthcare facilities. Optionally, graduates can sit for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exams to increase their earning potential and open up more job opportunities.

Medical Billing & Coding - Diploma

The UMA Medical Billing & Coding program trains you for entry-level employment in the high-demand Medical Records and Health Information Technician field. President Obama has approved over $19 billion in funding for healthcare technology and electronic medical records, and the field is expected to grow over 20% between 2008 and 2018. In under a year, you can learn how to run practice management software, process insurance claims and medical records, code medical procedures, and assist in the management of a medical practice. After completing your training, you’ll be qualified to take the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and seek employment in doctors’ offices, hospitals, insurance companies and other healthcare facilities.

Medical/Clinical Lab Assistant - Diploma

Medical/Clinical Laboratory Assistants are a key part of the healthcare team Medical/Clinical Laboratory Assistants work closely with nurses and physicians to perform tests that help them diagnose and treat patients. They help provide the information that doctors use to keep their patients healthy. Their responsibilities include:

  • Performing a variety of “waived” laboratory tests
  • Collecting samples from patients
  • Measuring and dispensing drugs
  • Assisting with patient recordkeeping and office management

Nursing - Associate's

Are you looking for a career with strong prospects? Nurses enjoy not only a solid pay check, but the satisfaction of helping people every day. UMA offers an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) that can prepare you to practice professional nursing in less than two years. Students get the knowledge, clinical skills, nursing values and experience required to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Upon becoming licensed, graduates will be prepared to work in hospitals, doctors' offices, residential care facilities, home healthcare services and other healthcare settings.

Patient Care Technician - Diploma

The UMA Patient Care Technician program trains you for entry-level employment in hospitals, nursing homes, physicians’ offices and other healthcare facilities. This focused, hands-on course can be completed in less than a year. You’ll learn to operate diagnostic equipment, assist patients with day-to-day activities, administer drugs according to physicians’ instructions, collect and analyze samples, manage medical charts and electronic medical records, and more. Pharmacy Technician - Diploma

Ultimate Medical Academy's (UMA) Pharmacy Technician diploma program has been designed to prepare you for an entry-level position as a pharmacy technician through the study of theoretical and practical skills consistent with the pharmaceutical industry's expectations of the technician position. The curriculum is also structured to prepare you for the PTCB certification exam.
