The Bachelor of Science in Long-Term Care Administration (BS/LTCA) major provides students with professional education specific to the field of long-term care administration. While many colleges and universities treat long-term care administration as a specialization or subset of another program such as business administration, health administration or gerontology, at Saint Joseph's College of Maine it is truly a degree in long-term care administration. Our online program is flexible enough to satisfy varying state licensing requirements. It includes a combination of courses in general management, health care administration and long-term care administration, and a specialization in two prominent segments of the long-term care industry – nursing home administration and assisted-living administration.

Students who have not yet passed their national boards may enroll as continuing education students, but cannot formally matriculate into the program until Saint Joseph 's College receives proof of a passing score on the national registry examination. These students may take courses (except for the upper division courses) toward their bachelor's degree. However, program requirements are subject to change until they become formal degree candidates.
