Dental Assistant - Certificate

The objective of the Medix Dental Assistant program is to prepare students with the technical and workplace skills necessary to perform a variety of dental office procedures and laboratory techniques. Upon satisfactory completion of the training, students will be qualified to assume entry-level positions as a dental assistant in dental offices and clinics.

Medical Assistant - Certificate

The objective of the Medix Medical Assistant program is to prepare students with the technical and workplace skills necessary to perform a variety of medical office procedures and laboratory techniques under the direct supervision of a physician. Clinical procedures performed may include injections, EKG's, vital signs, urinalysis, phlebotomy, collecting and performing laboratory tests and assisting in minor surgery. Front office duties may include patient scheduling, insurance claims processing, patient data collection, word processing and transcription.

Medical Office Assistant - Certificate

The objective of the Medical Office Assistant program is to train students to acquire satisfactory skills and demonstrate competency in a variety of medical office procedures and laboratory techniques under the direct supervision of a physician. The medical procedures and lab techniques include injections, EKGs, vital signs, urinalysis, phlebotomy, assisting in minor surgery and emergency situations. Front office skills include patient data collection, scheduling patients, answering phone inquiries, insurance claims processing, bookkeeping, billing/collection, keyboarding, transcription, word processing and computer billing. These skills are evaluated utilizing error control and speed-building reviews. This skill and knowledge enhancement will enable the graduate, upon completion of required coursework, to further develop his or her career as a medical assistant through an externship in a clinic, laboratory, physician's office or hospital.
