Harris School of Business is a private, post-secondary school that offers students an opportunity to pursue practical career education in the business, legal and allied health fields, with emphasis on administrative office support careers.
All students at Harris School of Business must have a high school diploma or a GED equivalent. Beyond that, Harris School of Business seeks students who have a true desire to apply themselves toward succeeding in their chosen career path. The programs at Harris School of Business are compact and intensive. Through completion of a short-term training program at our institution, students can develop confidence and a foundation for life-long learning through on-the-job training or going on to college for higher education.
The Harris School of Business dedicates itself to providing our students with quality post-secondary training so that they may have the necessary skills and knowledge to obtain administrative support positions leading to a successful career in the business and/or professional world.
Our objectives are:
A growing number of dental assistants are expected to be hired in private dental offices and dental clinics to perform routine tasks so that dentists can devote more time to complex procedures. In fact, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, dental assisting is expected to be one of the fastest growing occupations over the 2004-14 projection period.
The Harris School's Dental Assisting Diploma program prepares graduates to assist in a variety of dental office procedures. This program gives students a background in dental anatomy, pathology, and terminology, and includes the study of dental materials, radiography and chairside assisting techniques. Graduates of the program will be trained and prepared to assist dentists with exams, perform a variety of dental procedures including instrument preparation, taking dental x-rays, conducting dental laboratory procedures, as well as reception and office management procedures.
Dental technology is a rapidly developing field with new materials and techniques constantly being utilized in today's dental office. The Harris School's Dental Assistant Program provides students with training in today's technologies.
This newly revised program prepares students for positions in the medical billing and medical secretarial fields. Along with specialized allied health training, students develop administrative assistant skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs through extensive hands-on training.
This program appeals to individuals seeking to enter or re-enter a career in health claims. Students generally attend four days per week, with occasional Fridays; plus one or two evenings throughout their program.
Medical assistants perform a wide array of clinical, clerical, and human relations functions, which ultimately contribute to fostering within patients a sense of confidence in the operation of the medical office. This program is designed to provide students with strong foundations in patient care procedures, medical office administration and communication skills necessary for thorough, successful integration into any medical office.
