The Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) program is designed to provide students with high-quality academic and clinical instruction. The Fortis nursing curriculum provides the knowledge and skills to prepare students to be an entry-level registered nurse (RN) in a variety of clinical and hospital settings upon passing their licensure exam after graduation. The nursing associate degree at Fortis educates students in response to society's continuing healthcare needs while developing lifelong learners.
After graduation, associate degree in nursing students may choose take the NCLEX-RN examination to obtain licensure as a registered nurse.
With the Medical Office Basic X-ray Technician program, Fortis has designed a program taught at select schools in Florida, Ohio, Utah, Virginia and Alabama to provide a learning experience based upon hands-on, practical training. The Fortis x-ray program educates students in a variety of entry-level EKG medical skills. As a student of our X-ray technician program, you will have the opportunity to learn the competencies required of a basic x-ray technician: clinical skills in EKG, exam set up, electronic health records, and other areas used in a physician's office, walk-in clinic, hospital or clinic setting.
Fortis' dental assistant program is a communication-based approach to training an essential part of the dental staff. Students receive training in both chair side procedures as well as administrative duties.
Medical Assistants (MA) perform hands-on clinical care together with physicians and mid-level health care practitioners. The Medical Assistant is frequently the first person in the physician's office that a patient speaks with and may be the last person the patient interacts with following their exam, procedure or treatment. Medical practices depend on skilled, personable Medical Assistants as an integral link to their patients. Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for the Registered Medical Assistant Certification Exam. Job opportunities include hospitals, clinics, sports medicine facilities and insurance companies.
