The Pharmacy Technology program provides the student with an opportunity to develop the technical ability, knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment in any number of health care facilities and retail establishments as a pharmacy technician. The student participates in classroom lecture, intense training in a mock lab setting, and transition to a pharmacy in local health care facilities or retail establishments.
Graduates may find employment in hospitals, nursing care facilities, retail and wholesale pharmacies, drug manufactures and health maintenance organizations. The graduate can demonstrate communication and employability skills and can apply appropriate medical ethics to all areas of the job.
The objective of the health information technology program is to prepare the student for entry-level employment opportunities as medical information coders, medical insurance specialists, medical insurance processors and other medical administrative positions. Students are trained to perform duties using coding systems to classify medical data. Computer-based medical software and industry recognized word processing software is utilized in our training. Students are trained to work with third party payers using uniform billing practices.
Fortis' dental assistant program is a communication-based approach to training an essential part of the dental staff. Students receive training in both chair side procedures as well as administrative duties.

The objective of the Medical Assisting program is to provide the graduate with the knowledge and ability to perform various administrative and clinical procedures, in a medical office, clinic or health care facility at the entry-level. The student is trained to carry out clinical procedures such as recording vital signs, conducting routine lab procedures, basic diagnostic procedures, EKGs and phlebotomy. Administratively, the student is trained in front office procedures such as greeting patients, computer operation, filing, billing, scheduling and insurance claims.
The Medical X-Ray Technician program consists of 744 clock hours and 45 credit hours. It is designed to provide a learning experience based upon hands-on, practical training that prepares a student in a variety of entry-level medical skills. The student is given the opportunity to learn the competencies required of a basic x-ray technician; clinical skills in EKG, exam set up, electronic health records, and other areas used in a physician's office, walk-in clinic, or hospital/clinic setting.
