    Dental Assistant - Diploma

    As a student in the Dental Assistant/Assisting program at Concorde Career Colleges, you will be prepared to work alongside a dentist in his or her front office. Through the program, you will receive 'multi-tasked' training, which means you will receive education in both clinical and administrative capabilities in a healthcare field that is in demand. Clinical responsibilities include sterilizing and preparing instrument trays, exposing and processing x-rays, conducting oral inspections, preparing patients for treatment, and taking vital signs. Administrative responsibilities include patient charting, appointment setting, completing insurance forms, and processing accounts payable and fee collections.

    As a student in the Dental Assistant/Assisting program at Concorde Career Colleges, you will be prepared to work alongside a dentist in his or her front office.     Dental Hygiene - (AAS)

    The Dental Hygiene program at Concorde Career Colleges provides the education and training you need to become a professional in this growing healthcare field. Dental Hygienists provide dental health education, prevent and treat oral disease, promote and encourage the preventive aspects of dental care and assume responsibility for patient care in the dental office. As part of their responsibilities, Dental Hygienists perform certain healthcare assessments, including patient health history reviews, oral cancer screening, dental charting, and taking blood pressure. They expose, process and interpret dental radiographs. Dental Hygienists remove soft and hard deposits from both above and below the gum line and teach patients proper techniques to maintain healthy gums and teeth. They also counsel their patients about the importance of good nutrition.

    Medical Assistant - Diploma

    As a Medical Assistant, you will be an integral part of the healthcare delivery team. In this position, you are considered a 'multi-tasked' provider, meaning you will receive training and be qualified in both clinical and administrative capacities. Your education in the Medical Assistant program at Concorde Career Colleges will give you the knowledge and skills to excel in this important position. Medical Assistants work closely with doctors in clinics and physicians’ offices. You will be entrusted with a variety of critical responsibilities. Clinical responsibilities include taking patient histories and vital signs, performing first aid and CPR, preparing patients for procedures, assisting the physician with examinations and treatments, infection control, collecting and processing specimens, performing selected diagnostic tests, and preparing and administering medications as directed by the physician. Administrative skills and responsibilities include scheduling and receiving patients, preparing and maintaining medical records, performing basic secretarial skills and medical transcription, handling telephone calls and written correspondence, serving as a liaison between physicians and other individuals, and managing practice finances.

    As a Medical Office Administrator, you will play an integral role in your employer’s office. You will handle most medical office business and financial operations and help make it possible for your employer to collect monetary reimbursements from patients’ insurance providers. Your work is essential to the success of your employer’s medical business. At Concorde Career Colleges, you will receive the education you need to be successful in this exciting healthcare field.

    Nursing - (AAS)

    This Concorde Career Colleges program leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree and prepares students to take the National Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX.RN). Graduates who pass the NCLEX.RN can enter the healthcare workforce as confident, competent professional nurses. Armed with the foundational education and training this program provides, the RN is highly skilled and prepared to function in the following roles in this growing medical field: provider of care, manager of care, and contributing member of a healthcare team. At bedside, the RN is accountable for decisions that impact healthcare outcomes for the patient. Beginning students in this program are enrolled in general education courses, nursing theory courses, and clinical practice. The nursing courses begin with Foundations courses that introduce students to the practice of nursing, nursing theories, legal and ethical issues in nursing, and basic concepts of patient care. Students then advance through nursing courses that include more complex concepts in patient care and specialty nursing areas such as mental health, maternal-child nursing and care of pediatric patients.

    Physical Therapist Assistant - (AAS)

    The Pharmacy Technician program at Concorde Career Colleges provides the training and education you need to prepare you for a career in this exciting healthcare field. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will fill prescriptions in a variety of medical environments, including hospitals, medical clinics, and retail and institutional pharmacies. Your work involves performing pharmaceutical stock keeping, delivery, technical assistance, and clerical duties. Examples of duties you will perform are assisting pharmacists in filling prescriptions; assisting pharmacists in preparing drugs for unit-dose delivery; reconstituting sterile medications; preparing intravenous (IV) admixtures for patient administration; preparing IV chemotherapy drugs; entering prescriptions into a computer to obtain labels; ensuring information, such as a drug`s generic name, expiration date, and lot number, is properly recorded on labels; logging records for repackaged drugs; reviewing stock orders and replenishing supplies; and conducting physical inventories.

    Practical Nursing - Diploma

    Upon completion of the practical nursing program at Concorde Career Colleges, and passing the licensing examination, you can enter the workforce as a competent, skilled nurse. Practical Nurses provide bedside nursing care at the direction of physicians and/or registered nurses. The practice of practical nursing is based on concepts from the physical, biological, and behavioral sciences. Each state has its own nurse practice act, so the scope of practice varies from state to state. We’re here to help you obtain the education and training you need to succeed in this important medical field. As a licensed professional, the LPN uses the nursing process for patient assessment, to contribute to the nursing diagnosis made by the RN, and for planning, implementation, and evaluation in providing care. LPNs are integral to nursing. They provide individualized care in a variety of healthcare settings such as acute care, long-term care, home healthcare, and other community healthcare agencies. Practical Nursing students benefit from extensive hands-on learning. Much of their preparation for nursing focuses on supervised clinical experiences with real clients in real healthcare facilities. This clinical component of education is one of the major strengths of the Practical Nursing program. Because of the versatility in their study, LPNs are among the most patient-focused members of any healthcare team.

    Respiratory Therapy - (AAS)

    Respiratory Therapists deal with one of the critical life-sustaining functions of the human body — breathing. As a student at Concorde Career Colleges, you will receive the education and training you need to be a successful professional in this all-important medical field. You will deal with life and death issues on a daily basis. You will conduct diagnostic testing procedures and administer treatments to improve patients’ breathing, as well as implement and monitor life support equipment. You will assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of cardio-pulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities, and use sophisticated equipment to measure lung function and monitor heart functions. You might treat newborns, trauma victims, drowning victims, and patients suffering from asthma, bronchitis, coronary heart disease, emphysema, and pneumonia.
